Morning everybody. Wasn't sure if this goes here or the Other Watch Brands forum. I want to add a Tudor BB 79220 to my collection. I missed the opportunity to buy from a member so I started trolling eBay.
I found this one, with a few scratches, priced at the lower end of the scale. The photos of the dial aren't great so I can't see some of the usual fake tells. The crown tube looks right but that's about as much as I can tell. One concern is the serial number is clearly seen on the watch but isn't visible on the card for comparison. Add to this the seller's low feedback count so I have questions. Any observations are appreciated.

Everything looks good to me personally, I don't see any reason to doubt its authenticity. It's possible the serial number is not visible on the card because it was most likely purchased from a gray market dealer.

Why would that matter? Wouldn't there still be a serial number on the card? The card looks to have been situated to purposely cover the serial number. Has my continual suspicion turned into paranoia?

Just compared it to mine and it looks good. The only thing I saw of note is the serial number on the opposite side of the case of the ref number isn't there or looks faint. Doesn't look like a Photoshop job and should be as clear as the ref number 79220. I figure at the very least you would only blur out the last few of the serial.

Thanks. Is the reference number on the side of the case, between the lugs, or on the lug, like the serial?

I added a photo of mine to give you a reference. Sorry for the crappy photo, taken with an Iphone 7 casue I'm at work. Also, there is no numbers between the lugs. My model was purchased in Dec 2016 from an authorized Tudor dealer.

I was able to enlarge the photo and it looks like it has been obscured. It appears to start with a J which would be the beginning of a proper serial number, correct?

Mine starts with an I. What that means, I have no idea.

Serials are often not posted. It is a very standard practice. I normally redact mine and send it only to buyers that provide email or text

    Watch looks good.

Thanks for all the info. The seller accepted my offer and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow. Of course, it's being shipped Fedex and there's weather between me and Canada so, maybe Wednesday.
