    Hi,

I wanted to share one of my watch build projects - a Tudor 7016/0. It all started with the purchase of a Tudor 2461 movement a year and a half ago. It needed a few parts and a service but now it’s running like a champ.

While many reference 7016/0 contain a Tudor 2783 movement, the early versions did in fact have the 2461. With a nice movement in hand the next step was a dial. Sure, I could drop a few thousand one OR I could find one so far gone that I could learn about dial restoration/refinishing. I chose the latter. I found a heavily deteriorated dial on Chrono-shop.

Purchased at a good price and promptly sent down to Kirk Rich Dial in California for a refinishing. He stated he had the original artwork to reproduce the dial so it made sense to work with him. It was a fairly good experience with a bit of initial error in the first print. After 8 long months it’s done. The print turned out rather nice with the exception of the lume plots at 1, 2, and 3. They’re slightly out of alignment. But after such a loooooong process of getting this done - I’m going to live with it.
I’m sure you’ll notice I went from the original black to blue. Honestly, this isn’t a build to sell - it’s a project for me and I decided I wanted blue since i was repainting the dial anyways. Anecdotally, Kirk Rich Dial told me A LOT of people come to him with black Tudor dials to be refinished in blue. Funny since the market is hot on that variation.

I relumed the dial and hands myself - turned out rather nice I think.

Now to continue searching for a case.
