Hi there, recently had a bad service experience where my Tudor picked up some dial scratches. Can anyone recommend someone who can repair?

Would be great to hear of other's experiences with this. Also guess I can wait 20 years for them to rust over.

Dials can be completely repainted and/or relumed, but I don't know of anyone capable of hiding scratches.

Have you spoken to the watchmaker who carried out the service about scratches? Have they admitted liability for the damage?

They haven't responded to my emails, and didn't tell me when I picked it up, only noticed later that day. Not keen to take it back to them that's for sure.

Does anyone have any experience of their own with Roberto?
I'm thinking of maybe sending my Certina DS diver to him and he seems to be confident that he can make an improvement.

There's also Michael Young's Classic Watch Repair. Has anyone had any direct experience with their dial repairs?

Based on word-of-mouth, I'm sure he's great, but I'm having trouble finding good before-and-after examples of dial repair on his IG feed TBH. I'd love to see some.

Not first-hand myself, but I have seen several before-and-after examples on watch forums, and the quality has been pretty mediocre IMO.

Yeah I wondered about that. Be great to see some closeups! Pretty gutted about these scratches, but I'm not a flipper.. I can wait for a few years for them to rust, which is inevitable in the Sydney sun.

I’m always saddened when I read about things like this happening with professionals. Sure, shit happens, but own up to it and make good on it.
My mechanic has a very tight shop and at night he brings in many of the cars to not leave them outside. One of his techs parked a lovely BMW under another that was on the lift and overnight, the lifted one leaked a little fluid (don’t know which fluid) on the hood and it slightly etched the clear coat. My mechanic immediately notified the customer and paid to have the paint professionally corrected- on the entire car, not just the hood!
I hope you have luck with having retouched and I commend you for not blowing a gasket.
