lol believe me or not, doesn't change the fact that there's no markings on the inside of the case back
and yes we're presuming the case is gold. there is a some sort of divot or something on the outside of the caseback which could have been some sort of stamping at one time (possibly to denote the fact the case is gold) however its an 84 year old watch at this point, probably got worn down over the years.
I appreciate the help I've gotten from the community so far, as it goes I know just a picture of the face and a measurement wouldn't have been enough to tell me exactly what the watch was but since getting it open and seeing what's going on inside yielded pretty much all the answers to questions I have, I'd call this a success... you guys were at least able to give me a few ideas and point me in the direction of things which was just as big a help in the long run and I'm thankful for that.
