I have both the SKX013 and 007.
The 007 feels noticeably bigger to me although still fairly comfortable.
22mm vs 20mm strap width too.
Then again I am happy wearing 32mm vintage pieces.
I don't own any watches above 38mm. Most of mine are between 34-37mm. I think part of it is the size has become a comfort zone, but I also prefer the second hands on the 013.

SCUBA DUDE EVERY TIME

I have been in a week long battle between a Vostok Amphibia 420, Hamilton Khaki Mechanical, and a Seiko SKX 013. All of these watches have timeless or signature designs, water resistance, a great amount of durability, bang for buck, and much more. The Vostok is the cheapest, cartoon like graphics, 200m water resistance, Soviet provenance, and unique design. The Hamilton is the most expensive, it is the most accurate, it is Swiss made, Great historic provenance, hand winding, clean design, field watch, good case size and case thickness, and 50m water resistance. The Seiko SKX 013 it is in the middle for price, It is made my one my favorite watch brands, ISO rated 200m water resistance, Signature Seiko Diving design, quality, and more. All of these watches have some cult status and all of them I have been very close to purchasing. I have anyone of them to arrive by July 10th as I have a trip in the 14th. Now for some pictures! Thank you for your time!

SCUBA DUDE EVERY TIME
I like Soviet design, but why would I choose a Vostok? I have been considering a SKX for over a year.

Here are my worries on sizing of the 007 vs 013. As mentioned previously I have never owned anything about 38mm and am pretty small wristed. I usually prefer vintage sizing. Here is my largest watch my 1983 Seiko Sports 100 at 38mm/39mm. If a 007 is better then I might consider it

If you’re a vintage guy, go for the 013. I am. I did. I’m happy.
If you have Amazon Prime, you can always return it if it doesn’t work for you. But it will.

Size wise.... it’s a small 42mm. Lug to lug it’s almost square. Of the 3 42mm watches I own it’s the smallest. 7.25 wrist. It wears smaller then a speedy pro and is actually thinner with lug holes near the wrist which means natos are not a bulky on it.

It’s hard to say what works for you. My GF has a 42mm Seiko I can’t wear as it’s long lug to lug. My 39mm speedy date looks small on me but I wear 60’s 36mm watches no problem and a 45.5 PO. If your wrist is over 7 get the SKX 009 over the 007 for something different.
