Check out my thread where I serviced one (introducing...) that was basically identical. I picked that one up for ~$2150 with the messy crystal and the case as it is in those photos.

I kept up to date with that thread. They are pretty much identical. You did a fantastic job with that ! šŸ‘šŸ» came up great

https://ebay.us/m/kyAl7o Here you go šŸ‘šŸ» dunno if it’s a bit steep but it’s a starting point
Steep I think, hopefully not so much that you don't get any offers. I wouldn't expect to get that much for it soon (TBH, I think based on what others go for, I 'overpaid' for mine by ~$300 as ebayers tend to over-value "barn find" looking watches).

That said, I know there is a UK-markup, and I don't know how to add that. GLWS!

Yeah uk markup is definitely a thing. I always look at prices overseas and think it’d be worth a holiday just to pick a watch up šŸ˜‚

Also just a warning to anyone who sells on eBay here. Every time I list a watch on eBay he harasses me almost instantly telling me things like ā€œit’s only worth Ā£200 I sold mine at auction 2 months agoā€ along with sarcastic comments. Keep in mind the watch in question was a 14381 Connie in excellent condition. I know they’re not the most valuable but Ā£200… he wouldn’t leave me alone. He’s already messaged within an hour of this being up asking me what I think his watches are worth and do I want to buy them? Very odd. Asked him if he was a member ok the forum and he said no which is good.
I’m going to have to figure out how to block him on eBay.

Maybe a chance to low-ball him on the watches he DOES have and get yourself a good deal!

This exactly was my concern with the bay... The accessibility to millions of potential buyers but also their accessibility to low ball, bombard with DM's or generally annoy the seller too......

Best of luck with the sale. I may dip my toes into this world too. One Day

I listed a bench sweep for a buck. No takers. Eventually it sold for the minimum. The buyer has an odd lot site with other similar unsold estate stuff. They have a similar set of parts listed, which is more complete. It remains unsold and was just relisted again this afternoon.

Normally I would bid on such a thing. I am not sure why it has not sold. In the same time frame I bought other incomplete outliers and parts assortments. Eventually the 27 (intelligible in the photos) PC movement parts will sell. Possibility switched to BIN and low balled.

Or the seller could be patient till someone bids and they get what they are holding out for.

In the long run it does not matter if an item sells for a buck or a few thousand. Most volume sellers make profits on the former. If nothing else there is cash flow. So stuff can sit unsold for months or even years. As long as there is churn the system is profitable. When the item sells it pays for the rest.

Hindsight says I should have listed higher. But I wanted to test the system. At the moment in this economy I have no need to sell, even though it would probably be the right thing to do. If I did sell , would just buy it or something like it back again.

As a collector I would keep the gold and black dial pieces.
100% the others are far easier to replace, the black dogleg is the GOAT, but the gold is still the one I'd wear more often just because the way they catch and scatter light looks so special

If I’m going only on what I wear I’d keep the gold deluxe and the no date 14900.
This ^ in post #1, you answered the question. What good is a watch if you don't want to wear it?

The beauty of ebay is that you can block users and prevent them from bidding on your listings. This sounds like one of em.

GLWS, lovely watch!

You mentioned a Datejust… my decision would likely consider that (and other watches) as I’ve found that I like a particular style (which you obviously do šŸ˜€) and I have too many.
Which one would you think you’d wear that isn’t competing with the Datejust? Good luck with your sales as they are all nice.

In my head I’m thinking

No date silver dial (dressy steel watch)
Deluxe (gold dressy watch)
Datejust (daily)

The others don’t have a logical place in my mind. But the again this isn’t a logical hobby!

he tried to offer me 1000 each for two solid 18k watches. I mean, please...

What a joke!

Interesting you had the same experience with him. He seems to get a kick out of wasting everyone’s time…

I am really tempted by the watch listed on ebay. It's quite close to what I'm on the hunt for, which is essentially that watch with the cross hair and without the Turler branding.
A couple of questions if I may.
Are those painted or Onyx markers?
Is that date window faceted like the black constellation, or square edged?

I'm in Southampton btw. Sounds like you might not be a million miles away.

I’ll PM you.

However, other members are you able to shed light on how we tell the difference on painted vs onyx? I haven’t a clue. The watch was listed as onyx when I bought it by the dealer but doesn’t mean a lot given the rep of vintage watch dealers šŸ˜‚
