Only someone who thinks that a gold submariner dresses down, isn’t loud, and blends right in with jeans and a T-shirt would, well, own a gold submariner…

Pics!

😁 lol! Try it on some day if you can and you'll see what I mean. Here is a picture of it while I was dressed casually 👍

I think it just has the 2 micro adjustments on the clasp.
Correct. Two's fine since the links are so small anyway.
The new one definitley looks whiter than my "pre-Canopus" white gold Apollo 11. Can't wait to check it out in person!

You'll like what you see. That piece you have is gorgeous!

It's beautiful for sure, but the value isn't for me (doesn't help that the only gold watch I've owned I took an absolute hammering when I moved it on). Heavier and softer doesn't make much sense to me on a tool watch, and if I'm dropping 40k on a watch there are so many endgame pieces with arresting design, movement and/or build that I'd consider first. JMO. I can well imagine that it's dazzling in person, and if you end up buying it then it will be one to treasure, I'm sure..
To each to his own!

I’m so glad you took that comment the way I meant it!
So many riffs on this forum start that way, I almost didn’t leave the comment, but it was too good.

I wouldn’t say it blends in, but I do think it looks pretty damn good and I see what you mean about it working in that way!

While I will never be in a position to own one of these, I find the all gold tool watches such as this and the Speedmaster fantastic good fun. So inappropiate 😁

I enjoy cracking jokes all the time too so no worries. Plus, we gotta keep the peace on the forum, there are too many tiffs already. Humor is the spice of life.

Yup, you get it. Watches like these are such a contradiction to their intended purposes. However, I like to see these gold pieces instead as a celebration of the watch model, a very special version of it even.

The new one is beautiful indeed. Can I use my agreement with @speedyproftw as a shameless excuse to new old one as well? 😀

Thanks. I'm sticking with my 25th Anniversary. But I'd definitely love to see the new one as well. Might have to make a trip to the 5th Avenue boutique and see if I get lucky. I don't think they charge to look...yet 😜

I'd do the same if I had that model. You know who to ask 😀

Can’t help but think a panda dial would have smashed it out of the park. And it’s 25% too expensive.

That'd be so sick. Wow just the thought of the panda dial...

I like everything about it except the word Canopus.
Does it remind you of something?

I see the word and it phonetically sounds like some slang trash talk overhead on a basketball court. “You can’t guard me, you can of puss”.

This thread, and now RJ's thread are interesting reads...

Definitely this is less noticeable than the YG Apollo 50th, but it's soooo subtle that it's gold. I agree with @Jonathan40 that a panda dial would have been amazing, but imagine if they had done a Canopus black racing dial or a proper heritage UItraman with only the orange seconds hand. A lot of potential there...even using moon meteorite material could have been done as with the Pt Moonwatch.

In this situation, it's a very "safe" design.
