·Hey everyone! 👋
So, I decided to set up this new Treks & Hikes thread so we all have a place to post about getting outdoors, sharing cool nature spots, and finding fresh places to explore! Whether it's a quick weekend walk, a hidden lake, or a full-on mountain trek, drop your photos, recommendations, or questions here!
To kick off the thread, I wanted to share a hike I did this summer that completely blew me away:
The spot: Stoos (a tiny, car-free village in Schwyz, 🇨ðŸ‡).
Distance: Around 14 km round trip if you trek starting from Schwyz like I did. I advice getting to Schwyz by cable car and start from there. (If you want a shorter day, you can take an additional funicular from the village to the summit, and just walk the top ridge walk, which is only about 4.5 km from summit to summit. Funicular on both sides).
Time: Full day on foot from Schwyz (~4–6 hours total), or ~2–2.5 hours if you stick to the top section.
If you reach the Fronalpstock summit, they have beers there 🙂.
