I have some nice Omega watches: 2254.50.00 Seamaster Professional 166.0324 Seamaster 300 2930 30mm 6275 Seamaster Calendar CK 2627 Seamaster Calendar (bumper) 1910-1917 Omega trench Unknown caliber Lemania (counts, right?) and I just got a Seamaster 166.010. I have another dozen watches, of course they're pretty nice. But why do I want other watches knowing I mostly wear the Omega?
Skunk, you and I, we have the same problem... too many watches and so few I want to wear on a regular basis. What is a die hard watch collector to do? Buy another watch and go further down the rabbit hole.
Well, since nobody else said it, dibs on the 1655! Trades are a good way to freshen up the collection.
I find myself doing the same - I know I'll pretty much always reach for an Omega but I want others... the forum helps with this. For instance, a few members mention Certina - I'm unfamiliar with this brand so I have to look over the catalog - sure enough, there are some cool pieces I want now.
You don't want them. Not really. Listen carefully. You only think you want them. Only by selling them quickly at a low price to those who only want to help you can you be free of this dilemma...
Thanks, but, it's only about 1/4 of the collection, and I have bought and sold a number over the years to upgrade. No, Dan... I wear the 1655.
Sorry, I wrote the 3Cs, but I meant to write the "three Cs". https://omegaforums.net/threads/condition-condition-condition-and-other-pieces-of-advice.1716/
Aside from the one 2627 which will contribute its movement and dial, there is zero to criticise of the condition of my watches.
Ah, misnderstood. The 2627 with the strap has a rough case but has original crown and crystal and 355 movement and dial, so I hope I can get a really good marriage with them!
