Ah I missed that this was a 7985. In that case, yes the crown should be the flat version. Not the big crown.

Not to say it's not a real crown from a 7085. But yes, wrong for this reference.

Some incredible watches here. Perhaps those who know about the brand can confirm that there is a connection between Titus and my Monvis. I was told the cases were the same/similar. Mine is 37mm with 20mm lugs.

No connection really, just used the same case. There are many brands who used it from the same supplier (some of the bigger names would be Technos, Hoga, and Universal Geneve,)

Yes, but we are talking about gilt versions here, not 7986. The OP dial is gilt, and should have a lollipop hand ... as it does. Apologies if I misunderstood some part of your post.

no problem. maybe you can educate me on the gilt dial of the calypso 'cos i noticed that while mine is
gilted dial the others are not, at least in the 7986 series. could it be that since model has many interesting
vairations especially the references, some parts like gilt and non-gilt dial alike could be could be mixed in
the production process. tia.😉😀

Most 7986s are not gilt, but I have seen a few like yours. I have this 7986, which is pretty typical.

Perhaps, I can find more informations about my rare example of a Calypsomatic here.
Some weeks ago, I bought a Titus Tituscaphe.
Found only one other in www.
My watch was from a seller, who claim to be son of the first owner.
He gave me some informations, but could not tell me more about the model name "Tituscaphe".
The case is a Ref. 7085.
My Tituscaphe has a big logo, the other one, I know, has the small logo.
I know the BP Bathyscaphe, was Tituscaphe based on this model name?
And why is it a real rarity?
Did Titus have had some legal problems with this name?
Thanks in advance!

Very interesting watch, but I suspect that it was more a matter of marketing problems!

That is also possible.

Wow. What a nicely aged dial with matching patina on the plots.

This thread has made me want (need?) to hunt down a calypsomatic cased diver. The Technos and Titus are well above budget, but maybe some of the lesser known brands are obtainable.

is there a compendium of brands/models that used this case? Accurist, Monvis, Hoga, Hosam, Pryngeps, Titus, Technos, Silver, UG, Voit…

please add to this list

Of course cousin to the Calypsomatic - 1960's Technos Sky Diver “Big Crown” with 500M dial (Cal.2472)

Milus Archimedes, but quite rare and won't be a bargain.

I’m excited to be able to participate in this thread with my new to me Calypsomatic 7986. It’s stunning and wear fabulously. I love the red and blue alternating date wheel. I’ll try to find a correct bracelet but that may be a patient endeavor. However, it looks at home on a tropic rubber but for the time being, I have it on leather.

Acquired a good condition Technos Sky Diver 500m (collected some information here in the process, any input appreciated especially since a lot of it is speculation).
