·Today I have for sale this lovely steel Tissot two register chronograph with screw back case and waterproof pushers, ref 6220-3, from the mid 1940’s.
The two-tone dial has a silvered minute track which catches the light nicely from certain angles and has developed a nice even patina. Lumed Arabic hour markers and black lozenge hands complete the classic look.
The 35mm steel case is in very good shape with sharp, strong lugs and waterproof pushers. The case is in my opinion unpolished as is the screw case back This is a nice chunky design and wears very well on the wrist. The crown is Tissot signed but a later type.
The screw down case back is in excellent shape and has perfect Tissot engravings and is signed Tissot 6220-3 on the inside.
The very attractive looking movement is a column wheel Tissot CH27-41, otherwise known as a Lemania CH 27 or an Omega 27 CHRO ( later of course the cal. 321!) These come from an interesting period of production from Lemania and as such the movement correctly carries both a Tissot and Lemania serial number. Using the Tissot database as reference with its 16.3 mil serial we can date it to 1946.
It is winding and setting smoothly, keeping decent time and the chrono is starting, stopping and re-setting properly. It hasn’t been serviced whilst in my ownership.
€2650 net to me will include world wide Track & Trace shipping. Payment by bank transfer or Paypal F&F for established forum members.
