Ok, question for the “smarter” members of the forum. Mine has the day of the week in 2 languages, how do I keep it set in English? It changes day at midnight to Spanish, then at 3am flips back to English. Not the end of the world, but odd? I am guessing its user error but can’t figure it out.
Set in English and it will stay in English. Get some sleep.

That is normal. If you’d set it for Spanish it would change to the next day in English at midnight briefly before going back to Spanish at 3am...

Just picked up it’s sibling. I prefer it to the other one. Dial is great and the bracelet is much less of a hair puller. This one changes to English at midnight and then French or German at 3am. How do I get it to stick in English. Set on English day and then leave as if I try to correct the time after it flips to the foreign day!

I have a big wrist...The watch wears beautifully. You will need to get the bracelet right and learn how to operate it.
What size wrist do you have? Looks great on you...

I had the same issue and I think you pull crown to set time and go counter clockwise (backwards) for 24-48hrs, you will feel the day click and stay in the new language. That seemed to do the trick on mine.

I spoke to Timex support. After sending them a video of the 30 second mark pushing the minutes hand forward, the Timex Engineers agreed the watches were out of spec. Maybe because I bought many watches recently (I also got the Marlins), they let me exchange 2 of them.

Happy to report the new arrivals line up properly and yes they are very fun to wear.
Is this due to the second had not being properly seated, in the same way a minute hand can be improperly seated compared to the hour hand?
I know it make no difference on common mechanical watches, or the average quartz analog movement.
I'm wondering if its supposed to be resetting the position of the second hand to the 12 O'clock position.
When I set my quartz watches I just pull the crown up as whatever online clock I'm using reaches the 59 second mark which with reaction time and looseness of the movement results in the second hand being close to centered at the 12, though most of the time I seem to get only within 1/4 to 1/2 second off. Then set the hands to the next minute and push in when the online timer goes around again to the 59 second mark.
With a mechanical movement I find that some are tight enough that I can pause the second hand at the 12 O'clock marker by holding the pulled up crown with slight back pressure. Once its released the second hand is allowed to continue while I set the hour and/or minute hands to the correct position. I endeavor to make sure the minute hand reaches the center of a marker just as the second hand reaches 12 again.

I'm trying to figure out what makes this Timex movement different from other quartz movements.

I have a lower priced Timex which I got NOS still in the protective plastic wrap for about 1/4 of the SRP ( SRP was maybe 50-60 USD I paid around 18 USD) due to a pin missing from the clasp of the bracelet.
It works perfectly and keeps excellent time, doesn't gain or lose a second so far as I can tell, and I really like the dial and gold markers, it has a black finished case, but the bracelet is unnecessarily bulky and impossible to properly fit to my wrist. The case is also too heavy for what it is.
I figure on getting or making a leather band for it, though its not a priority.

Timex has a Q tiger by the tail. I think in the rush to fill demand, some uncalibrated watches escaped QC.

The one I ordered from the 2nd batch showed up today, but in the Timex Tracking it still says “ready to ship” and I never got shipping notification so that system is not accurate obviously. With a little luck yours may be on the way.

Just got back from some last minute Christmas shopping at TJ Max (discount clothes and home goods). They had this Timex Mk1 with the indigo feature for $40. A quick check on Amazon proved that was a really good price. Merry Christmas to me. Solid stainless steel, 30m water resistance. Bead blasted finish. The dial lights up blue with the Indiglo feature. 40mm case so big but not huge. Came on a black horween leather strap but I switched it over to the nato.

I bought the Q a little while back. Cool and fun watch. I love the look of the bracelet, and it’s a big reason I bought it. But man are the movement and adjustments janky as hell LOL

I just recently bought a Timex Easy Reader for a friend who had lost his fine Seiko kinetic in a house fire.
He needed a cheap but serviceable watch and since his eye sight is none too great the Easy Reader dial with Indiglo was the best choice.
He brought it over today so I could punch another hole in the band between the third and fourth so it fit his wrist properly. I was surprised at the quality feel of the band, very soft and supple.
A good low cost watch well worth the $30 price with free shipping.
Checking out reviews of these I found the standard version with date window has few if any faults but the Day+Date window version has a problem with the stem coming out when adjusting the day.
The simpler the better when it comes to cheap watches I guess.

Just got an email that the new Timex M79 Automatic is now available.

Just realized that aside from the Bezel on these the basic faceted hidden lug case style of the Q and the M79 is very much like that of my P3 PCAA trophy watch. It has an A Schilde automatic movement. The inside of the caseback is marked Hong Kong. I suspect they were sourcing cases from Asia in the late 70's and 80's.
