Time to part with cash but don’t want to fall foul of a fake

As a total newbie would appreciate an opinion. Firstly have managed to navigate some of the bad sellers out there thanks to this forum but I now have reserved 2 watches. Now I need to decide and as it’s getting to cash time don’t want to fall foul of a fake. I can’t find comments on the seller on this forum but looking to see if the 2 - links below - for a watch I want to wear daily (no gardening..) have any issues. The first looks to be a watch that was listed here in 2015 so aware of the price increase. Would appreciate comments, thanks.

The prices are very high, given that they have been polished. Especially for the Seamaster, since it is gold-capped.

They're a tad too pricey in my eyes. Not fake, however for a serious collector the money is not worth it.

You might like to check out the stickied threads regarding searching for a vintage Omega in the subforum. Once you have a set style and budget, check out eBay and do some more research, as well as browsing through the private sales area here. Plenty of respected member-sellers with genuine watches that won't break the bank 😀

Honestly, first one looks nice, would preffer it if it had never been “polished by Omega”. But its definitely overpriced. I know UK has a different price market for watches but I would look into finding it for a better price.

Second one is a disaster. Nice dial but condition of the case and movement is deplorable. And again highly Overpriced. For comparison I have 570 £ invested on this “new to me” piece after service:

Looks a little better on the flesh but the movement is super clean on this one. If I were you I’d look elsewhere.

I think the Seamaster is a redial and the movement and case are in poor condition.

I also don't like the Seamaster. The case is badly beat up, the lume dots are missing, and something is definitely suspicious with the applied "12". I would stay away from that one.

I'm not a real Constellation aficionado, but the dial on that one looks really nice to me. I with the case was a little sharper, but I can understand your attraction to the watch.

Thanks all appreciated - will start to hunt around here. You are right in that retail in UK is more plus ordering from USA usually results in an unpleasant customs bill. If I can drive a bargain on the Constellation might give that a shot as I am Just looking for a good looking watch but if not will hang in there.

Again thanks appreciated.

Try and get a warranty if you do decide to go for the Constellation. It's a lot of money and you don't want to be stuck with an additional few hundred for a service within a short time.
The price is very high in my opinion as well so, if you're not in a great rush, hang around here and see if you find a watch on the private sales forum.

Cheers, Chris

The older one will be a money pit. Signs of rust in plain view, and one has to wonder where there might be rust that doesn’t show. I doubt if a pristine one from that era would bring that kind of price.

Is that an index marker being used as a 1 ?
That's a candidate for the worste redials thread.
