I'm pretty sad I managed to miss this one. I was watching it, and then got sidetracked with the stock market that day due to Reddit. This is definitely one of the military dials and movements from one of the kits, swapped into a new case. It's crap from a collectibility point of view, but would have been perfectly wearable, and the price is about 15x less than what one of the watches goes for otherwise:

It sold for $53.

How does it have a shock proof movement from WWII?

That watch is definitely not from WWII (based on the style and the specific movement, as discussed earlier in the thread), but shock-protected movements certainly were produced in the early 40s, and even earlier. Wyler sold shock protected watches extensively throughout the 30s. You can even find Omega 30T2PC movements from 1944.

That's the whole discussion from before - these watches aren't from WWII despite them being "authenticated" as such by a "military history expert".

After 5 years away, one gets to re-read the thread with almost the same excitement as the first time!
