    The maker didn't have a tool small enough to make a window for just one date. I like that sort of resourcefulness. ;-)

    Time and date are relative. The makers do not want to commit to a date, not to jeopardize the time function. You can really only can tell one with accuracy as we all know from physics (I.e electrons).
