Ask a simple question get a simple answer and be prepared to get some answers you don't like.

OP clearly wasn't prepared for this, even taking to chastising me by PM for not keeping my opinion to myself. Sorry I'm not the feelings monitor, sometimes the truth hurts.

It's not too much to ask him to open the case back or have a watchmaker do it, is it?

Of course not but that's not all you asked. You posted basically a list of demands to the op in a tone as if he was in a police interrogation room. Go read your post. Like it or not no one owes you any answers. Likewise you are not required to respond to what you feel are annoying newbie questions right? Right?

Ok, so it’s your watch. That means that you should be able to answer some basic questions. Where did you get it? When did you get it? From whom did you get it? If you didn’t inherit it, how much did you pay for it? Did any paperwork come with it? Have you done a reverse image search on Google to try to identify it? Have you opened the case back or had a watchmaker open the case back to try to see if there is any identifying information on the inside of the case back? Have you examined the writing on the movement? Which caliber is it? What is the serial number?

???

Ok, I see your point, but another way of looking at this is that I gave the OP a precise list of questions that he could ask and tasks that he could undertake that were precisely intended to get him the information that he wants. You may not like my tone - and I do confess to a certain level of exasperation after seeing the OP make posts like this on more than one watch - but I and others were trying to help him.

I’d prefer people don’t flood threads with memes and cat photos but that’s a really beautiful cat so it can stay. Very cute toe-beans.
