Thoughts on this UG Compur

Hi all,

I've been doing some research on early Compurs with the the red and blue tachy and telemeter scales with the spiral scales in the center of the dial. While dial variations do exist - arabic vs roman vs hash marks is one type of variation, I have only found a single case style for SS versions. Couple examples below:

More recently though I have stumbled on an example which has a different case style and I am unable to find another example like it. Note the facets on the lugs.

What are your thoughts? Have you seen this case style before on an early UG? Or did someone go crazy with a polishing wheel and create a brand new case?

I initially had the same thought but after chatting with @bgrisso I realized it was different.

Never seen that style before but it looks awesome all in all...What's the case size?

Good searching buddy! This looks identical - case size, bezel, lug facets. I've asked the seller for a picture of the inside case back to determine approx date. I expect it to have a serial between 6xx,xxx - 7xx,xxx.

And since the other SS example did have very similar looking lugs, I double checked the serial on it as well - 614xxx.

Yah, not so uncommon after all to have faceted lugs. I saw 1 or 2 more and didn't even make it through all of chrono24. Because the rest of the first watch u posted looks unmolested I figured the case was probably ok, but nice to know for sure before anyone spends $$

I spent too much time on IG and other forums and still didn't find a single example so it is quite uncommon. But totally agreed, this solves a big doubt for anyone looking at these early ones. @Florent also confirmed via PM that this case is ok.
