Thoughts on this UG Gilt Shadow

Hi folks -

Looking for my first UG. Seems like a good deal. Stated that the date needs to be serviced. Is this a good starter piece? Many more photos in the link.

I think I'd be inclined to wait out for one with a slightly better case. By definition, these watches are plated which means that you don't really have any re-finishing options and it doesn't strike me as a particular bargain. Thess are not that highly sought after so you don't have a lot of competition - be patient.

I agree, not a bargain. But you can submit a price proposal. To my experience, often proposals of about 2/3 of the asking price are accepted.

Thank you both - would you suggest a Polerouter as a first UG over this? I know it is preference, but I would think the PR is much more easily attainable.

That would be my suggestion but they tend to be (much) more expensive depending on which model you go for.

If you want to stick with a shadow I would go for a steel version (white shadow).

You can still pick up a lot of different Polerouters for a few hundred $, with a bit of patience and an eagle eye.
They made somewhere in the order of 1000 different references, and typically 100s to 1000s of most of these - you can do the maths.
It just depends on how picky you want to be on the exact references, and whether you buy them from IG flippers, or elsewhere...
