Hi all!
Was wondering if this ranchero checked all the boxes? It seems nice to me but I’m far from being an expert on these...
No movement pic unfortunately, that’s all I have
Thanks!

Looks very clean. Original dial and at least the correct crown possibly the original. original examples are getting harder and harder to find.

Possible lume replacement on the hour hand (note the disparity with the minute hand), but otherwise looks excellent.

Dial looks great to me, cross referencing with some originals online.

Given the amounts that are asked for these, there is no way I would consider any Ranchero without seeing the inside of the case and the movement to be sure that everything lines up.

It all depends on how much you want to gamble.

Looks correct, but get an extract from the archives to sure that movement is checks out to be from a Ranchero

Here are three of my white ones to compare

it went on auction this morning.
Sold for 3100€ (+24% fee). I was the under bidder at 3k, that was my max gamble as you said

All correct and beautiful example! I'm sure that for an untouched example like this one the movement is correct. 😀
The winner has now a beautiful example for less than 4000€ 🥰

Seems like there are more original dialed Rancheros with WHITE dials than with BLACK. Also it seems that the BLACK dial examples fetch a higher price.

Not according to my list. From 133 2990-1 Rancheros I currently have recorded, 85 are black dial, 48 are white dial. Since I started keeping my records black dial 2990-1’s have surfaced twice as often as white ones.
I’m always looking for additions to the list and details are kept anonymous
