Hi All,

Have been offered this watch, your thoughts are appreciated.
It does have a replacement crown, and lacks the Polerouter script on the dial, which from some readings here can be genuine.

What do you think, and thanks in advance

Now that is a pretty rare bird. The inscription on back says "in Recognition" and it is likely to be "A. Schob" a printing company in Zurich. It does mention 1955 on the case back but it probably sat in a shop window for a while and was eventually purchased. I believe that It pre-dates the Polarouter. Probably a 1953-1954. This is the reference that eventually gave rise to the Polarouter and Polerouter. Definitely a good one to add to any UG collection ! Dibbs ...

It does not predate the Polarouter, you can see simply from the serial number.
