I always thought that a medico dial could be acuired for any reference

I don't know, never really studied Medico in detail

Interesting, was not aware. That does make it pretty hard to evaluate I guess.

For the compact you will want to see inside and outside case back to make sure it all checks out, and the asking price is way too high IMO

for the Medico you need to research if this case ref 22544 is actually for medico or not, as per the other example above?

Thanks, you are right about the Compact being high, but that's because it allegedly belonged to this guy Troy Ruttman who was the youngest winner of the Indy 500 and was gifted this. No documents etc. to prove this but it's presented with the text claiming so.

I was suggesting the archives photos in the book by Sala. I just checked my copy and 22544 appears in the UG archival pics for the Uni Compax, so I believe that means it's not possible to be a Medico (case references are not repeated across different product lines right?).

Probably means someone swapped a Medico dial into a Uni Compax case.

What book is this and where can I find it? Can you provide the full title please?

I guess the book is out of print now, hence the high asking price. I assume you can find it cheaper. You can also get a PDF version of the book for under $30.

Here's the website :

Thanks, I'll pause on pursuing these models for the time being and focus on a Tri-Compax I've come across on another new thread I've created.

Also, any thoughts on the picture of the Troy Ruttman case back (see pic above).
