I was hoping someone could give an estimate of the worth of this watch
It’s an auction, so in a couple days we will see what the market says this is worth

I will say, the seller is trustworthy. I’ve purchased from Clyde

And they have sold lots of these lovely Connies in the last few months

Welcome Cheems. I agree with all points made above, so your move now. What do you see? I will say you clearly have good taste (I have one similar and love it). There look to be about 80 people looking at this item with three days to go, so it won't go under the radar. I recall sale prices have gone above 1000 GBP recently if that's any help to you as a ballpark. If you're in UK, no more taxes to pay, so that's a factor. A watch of this quality will benefit from a service if you're going to be wearing it.

If you would like to learn about this reference and find that googling it is a bit overwhelming and you don’t know where to go, type this into the Google search bar for more refined results

Lovely looking watch, nice and clean dial.
The auction has 3 days left and 37 bids already. Never really understood why people bid so early!

1 Ah alright thank you, I will post the pictures directly in the future

2 It looked to me like a great piece, from what I could tell looking it up it seemed correct for the model and period and in good condition, but I was concerned I was missing something and wanted to see if it checked out with someone more experienced. Especially the movement, It looked like it seemed worn around the rotor and like there was some grime and I wanted to know if that was cause for concern.

3 Hi, my name is Zach, and I am currently live in western New York. I recently graduated from college and am starting graduate school next year. I have had a modern mechanical watch for a few years now. Recently I have been looking at getting a vintage piece as I have found the designs, history, and value of old omega models very interesting.

Thanks for all the help, everyone. I really appreciate it.

The movement is dirty, which indicates it definitely needs a service, specially if you plan/expect to wear this regularly. The service cost will differ depending on who you choose to service it, but this cost will need to be budgeted into (on top of) the purchase price.

FWIW I absolutely love that particular reference, the cal 712 ultra-thin chronometer is really cool and interesting and even the surface mount resistor dial furniture appeals to me. They’re a terrific watch, that most people overlook and couldn’t care less about because so many think they’re a Cal 1000 series or something and less desirable, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.

Hi, my name is Zach
Hi, Zach, nice intro. The "post photos" point is because OF tries to be an archive of record for collectors, but listings can disappear. This is a really friendly place, the "introduce yourself" stuff is to deter drive-by valuation hunters. Your opinions on this watch are sound (but you missed out the lovely bracelet), however it could get competitive (I'm not personally in this one though), so think carefully once it heads north of $1000. You sound like you could really enjoy the dedicated ebay thread on the forum - I'll leave you to find that - but I think its main poster (@dsio, just beat me to it here) is deliberately trying to flag up stuff with appeal to guys like you in mind.

I always bid early to make it more expensive if the seller wants to end the item early. I even use two accounts to raise the price. My bids are nowhere near as high as I usually think the item will eventually sell for. This makes it look like the item is attracting more interest and maybe keeps the seller from ending the item early if someone offers the seller an amount and asks him to end the auction early and sell at that amount.

Sounds like the OP may have enlisted some competition by posting this thread. ::stirthepot::

Yeah, when I first started looking, I didn't have something with such small dimensions in mind, but I really like the design of this one, especially the indices and the bracelet.

Constellations were higher-end watches, and sometimes you need to pay a bit extra to get something nice. But it can be better to have one great piece than three mediocre ones.
