This is one from my collection of Ranchero's with an uncommon dial.

It is a cal. 268 so maybe it is a late one the fitted with a Seamaster dial to use the last cases 😀 who knows…

Sure! Would make sense. What serial range is this one?

Then fits nicely I'd say, no proof otherwise.

With the examples @tamura posted I'm much more confident that the one I picked up was switched out at the point of sale. Same dial configuration has the examples posted here, and hands could be customized to the retailer's or purchaser's desire.

Will post up some natural light photos of mine later today

Good! That´s all that matters.

Out of curiousity, it would be interesting to see an Extract for this one

Yes! I wish extracts weren't half the cost of the watch hah!

Here are some shots by the windowsill. You can see the case has certainly been polished but it's not shiny or overpolished as @marturx was saying. The lugs are still thick and you can see scratches abound. I love how these cases sit on the wrist too, really nice size with thick features that give it a more robust feel. I also like the crown on the 2990/6 has a neat hat top which feels nice to wind.

The Seamaster dial on the ones I have owned have had the special Omega logo on the dial, not the normal logo and other index type.

And here is the 2990 equivalent to your watch:

Unfortunately, the dial on this one has deteriorated a little.
Nonetheless - quite unusual - I’ve not seen another ‘textured’ dial version.
Still looks pretty good on the wrist.

Reviving old thread.

Have you ever seen 2996 cal. 284 with some kind if pink-ish linen dial? Just found it on fb.

Reviving this thread. Zapatta, I've never seen a Seachero with a dial like yours, but in the late 1950s just about anything from Omega was possible. Here's my 1959 Seachero with a caliber 285. It's a double stamped case 2990/2996.

Unfortunatelly, the extract doesn't mention dial version but I've seen identical one in HK. 😕
