I couldn't find a previous discussion post on this eBay offering - but I may have missed it so let me know. Not looking at buying, but does it look correct? The lugs look polished from the pics and what of the lume? Serial just inside the known ranges. Seamaster swapped hands (look long enough) or looking correct including the correct sweep for B4 variant. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AUTHENTIC-RARE-OMEGA-SPEEDMASTER-CAL-321-REF-2998-62-OM-280518/273240831591?hash=item3f9e6c3667:gtQAAOSwc~5bC3sD
Another DEPORA, Departemen Olah Raga (Indonesian Ministry of Sports), Speedmaster here. https://omegaforums.net/threads/my-ck2998-62.13737/
I don't usually look at Ebay much but noticed that this afternoon. Price didn't seem outlandish at US$18.5K considering what is being asked for others.
I saw it earlier today and was thinking that movement looks like those from the earlier references. Strange for a -62 isn't it?
DEPORA 051 was sold by Christies in November 2016. Serial number 19,583,527 which is only 22 away from this one. https://www.christies.com/lotfinder/Lot/omega-a-fine-and-rare-stainless-steel-6028327-details.aspx
It's a shame the seller has so much negative feedback and that he has used a fictional location, I think these 2 factors alone are what's holding the bids back.
I especially like their other offering: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AUTHENT...m=273247375680&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network $7,000AUD BIN - I don't care how rare it is, that's ludicrous.
This dial is showing a lot of lifting paint, bubbling. It is an unusual, but not unheard of symptom in an old dial. The dial plot lume is even, thick, and attractively coloured, and shows no relation (in terms of deterioration, I ignore colour) to the hands lume. So I am calling a re lume on that one. I would even go so far as wanting to take the dial off and check the back of it, to make sure it is an old dial not a heated service dial.
