Faux aged lume.....tough sell for me 👎
same not a fan of faux lume.

A friend showed me an early 2000 reissue of Breitling Navitimer and that was attractive as hell. Real tritium on a neo-vintage.

Case size 41mm. That's about right for me, will definitely check it out. If only they would consider re-issuing the AVI ref.765 Digital too!

That is a beautiful watch. I personally like the color of the lume. You probably have read this thread regarding "faux-tina". Apparently the tritium/radium lumes never were pure white to begin with. In my opinion the color of this lume is quite pleasing and fitting for this reissue.

A lot of people complained about the lume on the 1959 Navitimer re-edition, until it was revealed that the original versions came with that color. I suspect this one came with this color originally, so don't assume it's faux-colored.

Visually stunning watch obviously but for 8k my money would still be on something classy and old. Heritage watches have their place but I can't ever see myself placing at lot of dough on one.

I like the way they've reproduced it.

But ... I would only buy a reissue if I had the real deal in my bank safe, meaning the original vintage watch in a collector condition that I know would lose the half of its value or more as soon as it gets worn. Then, and only then a modern reissue could make sense to me.

I also think in the case of vintage tool watches that through time have become too delicate to wear in any situation more strenuous than walking to work. The Bakelite bezels on GMTs and 2913s comes to mind. Or the 2915, a dent upon whose bezel will tank the value dramatically unless it's already marked up enough not to notice another ding.

I still wonder if Breitling is going to offer new service parts for the old watches after reissuing them. That was my first thought when I saw them releasing the 806 reissue

Another great Breitling reissue.

I think Georges Kern’s decision to bring Fred in as a consultant has been an absolute masterstroke.

I think the parts on the 806 reissue are different enough from the original to make that impossible.

I've liked the Aviator 8 since they came out, less cluttered (imho) than a chrono:

The lume debate still applies for many people, but it doesn't feel like a re-issue or 'homage' as much as just a color-combination that really appeals to me.

I like the 765 reissue; the styling is attractive and it’s priced right. I’d consider adding this to the collection.
