Thoughts on Speedmaster Reduced? Ref. 3510.50

I have one in the usual rotation.

Sees as much wrist time as any other watch I own. I love it - great on its own merit. Only Professional charlatans and fanboys disapprove, which only adds to its appeal. Like 944/Boxster vs 911 ownership.

Feels less "sturdy" than the Professionals - then again it is supposed to - but it certainly does not feel "cheap" at all.

I looked for one of those for a long time, never did find a decent one

Love the Marui but not the price that is too close to a Speedy Pro. Hence Reduced is a much better deal.

Bought a reduced just the other week. The sole reason for buying it was the fact i have very slim wrists. Couldn't be happier with it to tell you the truth

Love mine! Model 175.0033, 18-karat rose gold on stainless, with rose gold sub dials on black. I have a suspicion Omega likely never produced a rose gold and stainless bracelet for this model. Came new with an el cheapo crocodile grain brown strap which I despised! The yellow on stainless bracelet didn't look good, so I added a steel Omega bracelet. This watch is from 1989, and was produced for only a short time, and in Europe only, I am told.

I likem. Had this one 26 yrs now. Never had a servicing issue due to the movement being a "piggy back". Insert "piggy bank" joke here.

I have had mine for > 10 years .. Love it but it does not get much wrist time. This is because my others are a much newer . Never had and problems with the movement in terms of servicing or performance.

AP use the Dubois-Depraz module on their royal oak chronos so they are in some good company.

Buying a Speedy Reduced is dangerous. Not long after I bought mine I had to buy its big brother Pro as well. Coincidence? I think not. I like them both.

Well said! After I got my speedy reduced, my eyes are fixed on the Panda dial mod!

Just curious - why is buying a Reduced dangerous?

(Sorry for restarting an old thread - doing some research on my first Speedy purchase & came across this).

I personally don't know anybody that had a reduced and did not switch to the professional after some time.
Me included...

Because if you got a reduced it won't take long till you want a professional... 😀

Because the DD part is expensive and time consuming to service. There's an 8 part video on youtube where you can watch step by agonizing step of the service and why it's so complicated. A reduced will likely end up costing you more, much more, in the long run.
