Been watching this seller for a long time now....often tempted, never acted. Appears to list a mix of original and re-dialed, cases usually heavily polished, but appears to have a following. This bumper does have a little something though.

Although, just noticed, the main description does not appear to match the photos!

Moved this out to its own thread as the recommended watches thread isn’t really for this but man I result wouldn’t be buying that one at all

Thanks, dsio, for putting it in the right place.
Newbie on the learning curve here....is it that bad? Re-dialled and polished to death, but my untrained eye can't see anything else.

Service crown, unoriginal movement (shouldn’t have a spacer spring, exposed rotor springs, and other issues)
Not sure why this is already at 380 gbp. Shill bidder?

It’s a stinker man you don’t want that watch and whoever gets it at the current price is getting a lemon

Why do you say that? Did I make a mistake?
I chuckled at this. I just hope it was for the right reason...

The seller managed to find the only existing example of the famous 1965 Vintage Omega Seamaster "SPECIAL"

Someone got royally shafted there. That is a Franken watch with a tired and dirty movement from circa 1945, a case from ~1955 and a dial repainted in maybe 1985 (wild guess). It is junk.

ps Dug, what is the significance of the Avatar? Were you with the FAA Junglies?

I was thinking, hey, that looks like the case from a 166.010, and sure enough, that's what's inside the caseback. A little overpolished though.

My post was referring to the original watch shown in post 1, that is in a 2577-6 case but the movement type and serial predate that model by at least 3 years.
