Came across this one today at a favorite antique dealer's. He claims to have just received it, we dickered but didn't settle on anything, yet anyway. I'm thinking it's an older polish job and a lot of wear (caseback markings are barely there) That said, the movement seems solid (sorry for the lack of back-off pics) and the dial seems reasonably ok, with the lume burns. Cal. 550. The markings do seem thick under magnification, but most I've seen in person don't have the Arabic numerals. No service history info, but he also can't guarantee it was never refurbed either. I was only able to take a few snaps, but anyone want to chime in? What would you guys say is fair in the current market? The bay of E is, as usual, more frustrating than helpful so far...

Looks like a late 1950s fat lug 2846. but also looks like a redial*. Are you sure it had a 550 movement? If it’s what I think it is, it should have a 500/501 movement in a watch of that era, unless it’s had an earlier dial design applied. I don’t think you missed too much.

*the tells are the black indices popping out of 10 & 11, the off centre Omega text and lack of Swiss Made, though the latter can be hidden. Other than the black dials, those were often two tone also.

The minute markers are all over the place and the M in Automatic looks like it's trying to jump off the dial!

By coincidence, I am wearing a 2846 today, on a BOR. Here is what an untouched dial looks like, I am really feeling it for this piece and bracelet combo at present, though some may find it a trifle flashy for a fat lug:
