Thoughts on First Vintage IWC

This is actually my first vintage watch. I posted recently that I was looking for a simple gold IWC dress watch. Here’s what I got. I paid $1k. All edges are still very sharp. Dial is clean. Just need to get it serviced.

I actually do leatherwork for a hobby so I’m going to make a few straps - first a tan pebbled calf and a chocolate brown gator

One thing to look out for in these vintage IWC dress watches is a potential re-dial. I think people "print" the logo on these days (I don't know how exactly), making it harder to tell if a redial has been done.
Your watch looks fine to me (although I am still a novice) and is very fairly priced. Congrats!

that’s amazing condition for a vintage watch, have you tried different straps with this model?

This watch is the proof that you can still find vintage watches at a fair price.
Just get out of the usual brands.
Well done.

Dial looks good to me.
Excellent catch.
Under 36 mm you can get some real treasures like this for an affordable price.
