I have a piece of wood from Ulixes ship that they are trying to to buy from me but I tell them no. I offer medusas tail but they don't seem interested.

Bremont is a great brand with a rich history. Their important role, in the success of the british army under the command of the Duke of Wellington at the battle of Waterloo, is often forgotten. They are also great investments, like the Venezuelian Bolívar.👍

Oh I am so embarrassed. I forgot that important historical connection.

Didn't the Duke wear the special edition issued to celebrate Nelson's victory at the Nile. You know, the one that had a piece of L'Oriente pasted inside the back....

Right next to the airplane sticker.

I think Bremont stole the idea for this stuff from @Mad Dog , he's got a picture of a DC-4 on the inside of his Seiko.

If only Bremont made a ltd piece of 328,665,720 with a tiny piece of captain America's shield they will have cornered the market. 😉

The ficticious history thing worked out well for Blancpain, a pretty much nothing brand until it's 1735 fake roots were mined for gold. I've handled a few Bremont models, the finishing on the ones I fondled were pretty good (the MB series) but their prices are out of line, imo. They seem to want to be a kind of IWC for active people. I also think they are really working the 'Hand-Built in Britain' angle, like a high brow Shinola concept. Don't know how well that really works for these kinds of brands.

Time to find out what the OP did about Bremont, did he buy?

The reason I ask is that I came across the brand recently, I like the style but hadn’t heard about them. The AD has offered a good discount if I am interested, so curiosity piqued thought it worth having a dig around and see what I can find out.

Having read this thread I guess that Bremont are not the most popular brand around, but no one who owned or owns a watch was negative in their comments.

So are they worth a more detailed look or should they be kept at a distance?

No, he didn't, he felt somewhat duped and not a little embarrassed, but lesson learned and cash saved for a more prudent purchase somewhere down the line. Thanks for asking; I'd forgotten all about this post - and Bremont.

They're really local to me, I suppose I should go have a proper look at them but keep getting distracted by the brewery in the town before them.

I have visited the factory and it is very interesting. Nick English has a very good vision. I agree will all the comments previously mentioned. Still would not buy. Depreciation is horrific and they all have very standard movements in. The cases are well made but in all honesty how many of us are going use an ejector seat?
The next generation of watches may be of more interest.worth keeping an eye on.

Whereabouts in Henley are they, I am going to Didcot on Saturday and can make the trip via Henley quite easily.

Thanks for the feedback, it looks as though this is a Company to keep an eye on and see how things develop in the months and years ahead rather than dive in now.

Just out the back of Henley on Marlow rd, it would be a short drive, think they're based in a set of business units about a mile or so out of town.

The cases are made in a very anonymous business unit with a couple of very large CNC machines in, polishing etc. The watches are assembled at another site which is an oak framed building on what looks like a country estate gate house and converted outbuildings. As I recall Bremont were aiming to build a new factory/ visitor centre / showroom in the next couple of years.

The latter is the Marlow Rd site as far as I am aware.

No idea who started the race for the bottom but we're winning now.
In other news, read an interesting story from someone who went on that line shortly afterward and made a joke about 'not getting stuck like Boris' to the operators. They all rolled their eyes and said " If he actaully got stuck we'd have to shut down and investigate..."
