Thoughts on a 145.012-67

Hi all!

I’ve been offered this 145.012-67 and would like to get some advised opinions about it. I know some additional pictures would be needed, like movement and more details from the case, but does it seem worth pursuing or are there any red flags immediately striking out?
Thanks!

There are some strange marks around the lume plots of the dial. It looks like some glue or detergent marks. Possible relume ?
I don't really know why but my guts say this DON bezel seems off 😒. It looks uncommonly shinny to me.

I see the marks around the plots, I missed them at first!
To me, the dial itself seemed clean but I have no idea how to assess the plots. I’d ask a uv picture and expect for it to glow from that era but not much else.

Overall, the evidence definitely suggests a re-lume. The color isn't bad, but the application is a bit thin in places unfortunately.

Aside from those marks it’s a nice looking dial. I wonder if the marks are only observed through a loupe.

I don’t have too much of an issue with the bezel - it looks a good example. Is there something I’m missing?

Edit- the case also looks in reasonable shape to my eye, and the hands look fine. For me - assuming the movement checks out - this is a price/dial mark trade off.

The odd marks are usually a result of humidity in the watch. I'm not so sure that the dial has been relumed, as it seems like the luminous is flaking off in some areas, just as vintage lume would. That said, Speedmasters aren't my area of expertise, so if everyone else thinks it's a relume, it very well could be.
That bezel is definitely trash, though.

Is claimed as all original ?
Dial seems clean for a 50 year old watch.
The markers do have that funky halo around them that bleeds into the clean dial.
Price point?

Looks like someone tried to rub out the tachymetre notation on the bezel? Or is that just a trick of the light? If the former, what would be the intention of doing that?

The bezel looks like it has some sort of clear coat on it.
Original bezels do not have this “Lacquered gloss” to them.
Just look at the space between the 300 & 275 markers. Fake.

- I vote bezel is fake.
- Hands relumed and look like they have added fauxpaint
- Can the ghosting around the plots appeared from stabilizing them?

wow! Nice catch the spacing between 275 and 300! I had seen the misaligned dots problem on some fakes but not this one!

thanks to all, I’ll walk away! 😗

I totally agree the coat / gloss of the bezel is off. Also great catch on the marker spacing!

I still get the impression that someone has stuffed around with the tachymetre section though. It looks like there's that same point of reflection when the watch is captured at different angles? Close up you can also see the bezel is degrading around this area, in a way that doesn't look very consistent with normal bezel wear and seems to suggest a pretty crappy fake (at least to me - could also be a bad insert replacement though?). I think the seller might have some trouble shopping it around as an all-original example in any case...
