Just acquired this one from a very nice gentleman. Kind of got a heart attack when he took it from his pocket because the plexi was broken when a customs officer dropped the watch but the dial and hands are undamaged. Movement is matching with the cb (I redacted the numbers). One of the pinnacles of Longines design IMHO

Nice! Really clean. One wonders why a customs officer was handling it however.

This is a fantastic watch, congratulations!

I have not seen many examples of ref. 6474 or ref. 6075 in gold. Your example looks to be in very nice condition. Do you know to which country your watch was originally invoiced?

Here is another 6474. Serial number looks to be 8'956'932. Sold for 18,500 GBP in Dec. 2021.

Here is another 6075, according to the case-back. The extract states ref. 6095. I have not looked into this discrepancy. Serial number 7'779'700. Sold for 7670 EUR in Oct. 2020.

Not yet. Waiting for Longines.

Indeed a very rare reference. Only same one I could find was the Dawsons one. Mine is a close serial from that one.

I will drop it off tomorrow. Somebody in the know told me that Sternkreuz has a plexi that should fit.

Delivery just confirmed: it was invoiced on 12.10.1954 to the company Vézia, which was at that time our agent for Bamako.

Had to google that but Bamako appears to be the capital of Mali. The gentleman I acquired it from was gifted the watch by a French friend so he may have been the original owner.

Interestingly enough another ref 6474 was delivered to Djibouti so maybe marketed for the African market. Curious to hear whether somebody know of other Longines delivered to Mali

It has been my experience with vintage Longines chronographs, that replacement parts are generally available. Plexiglass should not be a problem.

Wow! I also had to Google search Bamako. I do not recall another Longines that was invoiced to Mali. An intriguing provenance!

It looks as though the other 6474 (-1, 32) above was invoiced to Athanassacopoulo in Djibouti, on the 9th of December 1954.
It is. That is the Dawson one

Goldberger has 6075-2 #24 and 6474-1 #14

This may have been another one? https://www.invaluable.com/v2/aucti...ined&queryID=ff2569df592d08b80c63b8e1a2bbe613
And perhaps this one: https://www.invaluable.com/v2/aucti...prod&queryID=4416852b89903bd8e6c48bb38358aba8. Dial obviously older but that may have been swapped

Other potential one but again an older dial is this one
