Hoping someone in the brain trust here can help shed some light. Know the original owner, he bought this brand new from an authorized Omega dealer in downtown LA and says it’s never been serviced or touched in any way. I’ve seen the model before, I actually really love it! BUT CLEARLY NOT A SPEEDMASTER!

Says Seamaster on the back, as it should be, box and paperwork is for a Seamaster... What is going on? It’s 40mm. Wears great. Dial looks good to my eye, but I am a vintage guy so really hard to say.

Any info is much appreciated!

Just when you thought you'd seen it all. I am very curious to if this is a redial of some sort or truly a misprint. How would a misprint of that caliber even happen?

If Rolex 6-6 can in modern times then anything else is possible

It’s a known factory error dial. A handful made it to US dealers and have been spotted in the wild. Search for “Speamaster” on WUS and there are a number of threads by a member jmsrolls that owned a few of these.

You can post about something you'd think theres no chance anyone else knows more about, then some random member on here will be like I own 7 of these examples and have written a 48 page dissertation on this topic.

Really appreciate all of the information! I have reached out to the WUS member who seems to first discover this misprint. Hoping to get more information. I can only see a few examples that sold, all the smaller version at 36MM. Last smaller version thst I see sold in 2018 for $1850. Would love to hear any thoughts on what everyone thinks a fair price would be for this 40MM miss print version with box and papers today.
