It’s fun to see when collectors start shifting their focus. I remember a time when it was all dress/work all the time from @Shabbaz - perhaps the isolation is loosening up the tie a bit
Exactly this. I'm done with suits. I dont want to go back to them. I already was in a proces of drifting away from formal but maybe I'm going a bit too far with it. Nowadays I often wear jeans, t-shirt, stan smiths and a jacket to court. No dress shirt, no formal shoes, no tie. I'm done! Revolution! 😁 And a sport watch goes well with sneakers. Although a dress watch is cool as well...

I wore jacket and tie to work for over a decade (in the office- not out in the field), suits for more formal events of course.
About 8 years ago I had a wicked case of Achilles tendinitis and my most comfortable shoes that didn’t agitate it was a pair of burgundy PF Fliers with Superfeet insoles (my weekend shoes- look like Chuck Taylor’s). I wore them with khakis and dress shirt/tie and sport jacket feeling rather sheepish but I got constant compliments! I bought a few more pair in different colors (blue, mustard, black, green) and rotated them depending on outfit and even more compliments- guys in Brioni suits complimenting my tennies! I could pull them off with jeans or even grey flannel pants.
Before long, I was known for them- I guess in such a conservative, stuffy environment- people appreciate a bit of whimsy every now and then- and the sport watches did indeed follow.
