Thinking about getting a Zenith

Looks like a radium burn caused by the hour hand. There's another very faint one between 10 and 11. On the other hand, the crown has been replaced with a not-period-appropriate one on the second to last photo.
Thanks, are crowns hard to find for these.

I'm not quite sure but it would depend on your location and your watchmaker's access to parts. In Seoul, where I live, it's exceedingly hard to find an adequate parts supply, so I try getting all-original pieces. The correct crown would be one with a Z in a star. They can sometimes be found on eBay or Chrono24

I ran across this one, it's been serviced recently but the dial does have a blemish. Thoughts?

Mephisto is spot in. Crown is later replacement. Not a big deal you can find those. Mov’t and case numbers seem right for early 50’s. Too bad the radium burn isn’t at 12 or 6, it wouldn’t be as annoying. Offer $300 and see what happens. You’ll probably get it

Looking closer I see the automatic specifically the C has been lengthened. I’ll get out an example and check it closer

I highly rate the A38X El Primero series especially since not many vintage chronographs feature a unique tonneau case. I also love the A277 a lot!

The A’s shouldn’t match. Different fonts. Not sure about the second hand. I don’t think it’s original. I’ve seen a few Captain models where it’s under the Zenith but it’s normally above the 6 hour marker. I was watching this one just because I found it interesting and I also like the dial.

I like that one too, with its even yellowish("parchment?") patina. The crown is correct and the Huguenin case also seems so. I'll leave it to CaptainWinsor for the typeface expertise😀.

Just a caveat: The dial might possibly have some damage at the center due to removing the hands; the pictures are blurry and I can't make it out clearly if its damage or a distortion/crack in the crystal.

There's no picture of the caseback, so I wonder which design it could be: plain, Zenith with inscriptions(automatic, swiss, antimagnetic, etc), or the stylized Z that looks like an hourglass?

I'm thinking about taking a chance on this one, my biggest concern is that it is in Albania.

Yeah. That always makes me move on but at $300 it may be worth taking a chance. I’d still rather see the Captain below only seen a couple like this

I decided to let it slide. I like the dial but its location makes me think that I should just wait for a better one.
