Okay, so I've been looking at Ebay a bit and there are some really attractive watches on there for not too much money. My question is, this dial is a redial isn't it?

Yes

Looked at the listing. Run away from that one
Thanks, I didn't even watch that one. I try to avoid buying anything from the former Eastern Bloc.

As the saying goes, better in person......metallic in nature and brilliant when the sun bounces on the dial.

Look at the Defy range. Plenty of models from the 60s/70s to choose from for under $1k

Not mine, but the A3818 is a very cool piece! 👍 (Pic borrowed from the web)

All depends on your budget. Certainly a great range of vintage and iconic vintage brand.

Good luck!

Question is: what would you like?
A chronograph, a "time-only", a diver?
From 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s? Modern?

I was purposefully holding off on this just to see if anything peaked my curiosity outside of my normal tastes.

I tend to like time only or date watches, I think chronos with three subs get too busy looking, I own a decent diver and am not really looking for another right now, I much prefer vintage (my only modern watch is my diver).

So that said after looking over what everyone has posted I am leaning towards something with a 133 bumper movement. I don't own a bumper but think it might be cool and after perusing the Zenith forum for a bit and seeing threads like the one covering Captains, I have found them to be quite nice looking watches that tick all the boxes for me.

Expect torture if you don’t spend time on some research yourself 😀

But by all means, don’t feel any rush ::rimshot::
I don't plan on rushing, I was tortured with my first Connie and paid my newbie tax on a redialed pie pan.

I also tend to like manual winds with sub seconds. I think this one is a looker, I like the markers and hands, I just think the dial is a bit too "tropical" so I don't think I'll bid on it:

It’s ok IMO. There are a lot nicer examples
