·I once got home from my commute (by bicycle) and noticed the crystal was missing. At the time I was wearing a Tradition V7733. Luckily I had short sleeves on and the hands were ok so I was able to replace and move on. Still don't know how that happened.
The thing that annoys me most are watches as status.

·I get that, but if it wasn't for the guys in the nearby office towers trying to impress each other, my favorite shop might not be able to pay the rent.

The important thing is that you were wearing it. I am Death of Crystals. Easier to replace than 55 year old pushers though. First I've lost in 50 years of wearing Carreras.
Status: my near neighbour has a good looking new Rolex or Tudor Submariner (can't tell without impolitely grabbing his wrist) which he wears while washing his car barefoot. He wore his previous Rolex (pretty sure) while clearing drains for elderly neighbours. I think he wears them because he goes for quality and to hell with status.
To upset watch snobs: I don´t particularly go for Rolex but love my Speedy Reduced 😁
And my other Omega has a battery 😜

·Huh? I opened this thread to be ready to say, for me, one of the things that annoy me the most: people who say deployment instead of deployant... wrist shots are the virtual handshakes of the internet watch world!
In some parts of the world, those parts being..... where the Queens English is spoken,...... the original country where English came from, ......the mother ship of English as it were,..... ie not America, Australia, Canada, South Africa etc etc...deployment is correctly used when talking about silly little clasps that open and close watch opening thingies. It is not wrong, nor will it ever be wrong, either as a translation of the original term or in terms of it being a common way of referring to the mechanism that opens watches in the UK. Which term you use is a matter of preference rather than a disputed fact.

The Frisian Islands you mean? With later stolen items from French, German, Latin, Hindi, Creole and Pigin. That's the short-list.
The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.
