What annoys you the most? Mine is photos of watches on wrists... It's such a minor thing but it bothers me so much. Am I alone here? For example: Same Speedy on my fat wrist vs just holding it - 20180528_123816.jpg 20180522_154352.jpg

Whatever you do, don't look at the WRUW thread. Your head will explode.

I clicked out so fast! I should rename this to biggest annoyance in the world of watches. That's mine.

Fine to have your own preferences, but it is a WRISTwatch after all.

For my own annoyance, there's a certain level of gate keeping once you get into this hobby. There will be "respectable" watches and others that are not. I've been guilty of this earlier in my collecting journey and I cringe when I remember "educating" one of my friends about why a speedy reduced he owned wasn't as good as the real deal.

I've since tried to be more open minded while still having a strong opinion about watches. It's a balancing act sometimes to be sure.

I 100% agree and try to be open minded as well even though sometimes there just is a difference between pieces that are respected (and sometimes better) and those that aren't. Your example of the reduced speedy is perfect. Thanks for the reminder to be open minded and not stuck up. :)

Huh? I opened this thread to be ready to say, for me, one of the things that annoy me the most: people who say deployment instead of deployant... wrist shots are the virtual handshakes of the internet watch world!

Just a thread for griping about what bugs you - and I agree with yours as well. My pet peeve is simply the hairy wrist shot when it only takes a second to get a better photo. Like I said its super dumb but thats mine!

Doesn't anybody else wear pocket watches on a neck chain, dangling around the belly button?
I'll get a shot later on.

No judgement here, but I prefer to see a watch where it belongs, on the wrist. It is like seeing a pair of pants laid out flat versus on a model. Like clothing models it is nice to see a variety of wrist models (hairy, fat, skinny, whatever).

If it wasn't for wrist shots, I never would have believed people wear nice watches on nato straps.
WRUW is a nice dose of reality.

@wagudc @michael22 Both totally valid points I prefer to see it as it is and how it was created. I think it's more eye catching and makes me imagine them on my wrist.

Blurry or dark pics that look like they were a photocopy of a scan of a Polaroid. If you aren’t even going to try, don’t.

And I have ranted on this before, the hyperbole involved with upselling patina. There is mellowed with age and there is damage....to paraphrase another member- don’t piss on my shoe and tell me it’s a glitter rainbow of magical colors with a starry night, chocolaty butterscotch tropical breeze infused spider dial...it’s friggin damaged.
