Excited to receive the vintage IWC I bought (head only) from a forum member last week. Love the watch, but it’s a mite thinner than anything else I’ve owned, at least recently, and I’m finding that the 18mm brown leather strap options in my stash are a bit too thick—they bulge out beyond the lugs. I think the piece would also benefit from a curved-end strap, though just going thinner might do the trick alone. Anyone have a brand/site you’d recommend for a vintage style, super thin (unbolstered) strap? I’ve started googling around too, of course, but usually learn a lot more from fellow OFers than I do on my own. Open to plain leather, gator, lizard, ostrich, etc. Thanks in any case!
Good place to start: https://omegaforums.net/threads/«watch-strap-ressource»-where-to-buy-good-quality-leather-watch-straps.82232/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/a-pretentious-snobby-old-fashioned-guide-to-choosing-a-strap.154166/ Stitchless, no padding (ie. about 2 mm thick) gator / croc / lizard would work well I think Matteo is very good. At a lower price point, with decent quality, Tuns also has a good range and does stitchless thin styled straps too.
I've found well-made thin straps here: https://www.watch-band-center.com/shop2/index.php/user/watchstrap/suche/1/
Artisan Straps in Australia is excellent. If they don’t have something in stock that works, they’ll custom make whatever you want.
