This seems tame for Liberace, but maybe it was for his casual days when not performing.

No worries though, there's always a market for these types of monstrosities. Producer Michael probably has multiple in different gemstones.

Liberace died about 35 years ago. This watch never belonged to Liberace in my opinion. Might it have appealed to him back in the day, and did he have the resources to buy something like that? I’d say yes!

Did anyone else notice a peculiarity of the diamond bezel on that watch? Let me know if you did, and what the peculiarity is.

You mean besides covering up the numbers with diamonds 🤣 Then again, are you really timing anything with this monstrosity.

The diamonds are square cut but with slight angles and are set in a facetless setting, which make it look like they are held together by the pressure against each other. Looks odd considering the rest of the dials on the case are round cut, but that goes with the theme of the watch.

It's like Medusa's face, stare at it for too long and well...

The image has an arrow pointing to a particular diamond. I think I counted 36 diamonds around the bezel. Most of them are square trapezoidal in shape. But the arrow points at one that is a rectangular trapezoid that appears to perhaps fill what would have been a GAP.

Sophisticated, understated, with a hint of naughtiness.

I've seen many uglier watches than this Daytona. I always thought this woman's Audemars Piguet was hideous.

I remember reading on Rolex's website a comment regarding the selection of gemstones on these decorated Daytona's saying that each stone is hand picked for color size etc.by trained gemologists for these meaning that they are unlikely to be machine made ie each one is individual and Canucks observation seems to endorse this with the minor differences in gem sizes being cumulatively delt with by the final selected gemstone , or perhaps I am reading too much into Rolex's official advertising.
The Japanese would say the Art of Imperfection https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabi-...e aesthetics, wabi, many forms of Japanese art. or https://exhibitions.kelsey.lsa.umich.edu/less-than-perfect/deliberate.php
In the Islamic belief Perfection belongs to Allah alone.
So who am I to criticize

Why would you put yourself through that........ a thorougher and close inspection of something that is such an eyesore is only prolonging the pain and suffering of looking at it! 🤣
