There's something about a watch's symmetry...

I also can’t stand dates in the 4 O’clock position. It’s just not for me.
Yep. I am on board with that. It just seems to be a somewhat un-natural trick of the eye to read it at the 4 o’clock position. My brain immediately said Huh...What?

I think the date works best at the top or bottom.
Like some Longines's have or Hamilton's

As an aside what is the center dial measuring on the Longines?

Now, this to me is the best looking 4 o'clock date in this thread, even though it's usually not my thing. Horizontal, not suspended.
is it because of the round opening displaying the date that matches the sub-dials perfectly?

Isn't that where people are buried?

As Jane Siberry once said "You can't cut down the symmetry"...

So, does anybody have a problem with the crown at 4?

How about the incredibly important helium escape valve at 10:15?

If the He escape valve is at 10, the crown must be at 4. For symmetry. Shame Omega, shame. :whipped:

Nah, it's like a buoy hanging off a beautiful boat: it's gotta hang somewhere, so as long as the boat is nice, it's not really a distraction.

I mentioned that it was because of the horizontal positioning rather than suspended at 4 o’clock. But the small circular opening doesn’t hurt.
