The White Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch — Better Than The Silver Snoopy Award?

I had the chance to finally try one and compare to my Snoopy.
Really beautiful, but still prefer my beagle. It looks less dull, more special. Is it worth paying 4k€ more? -silver dial, back animation, ceramic bezel, that's up to you. For 9600€ I paid, undoubtedly, but not sure which path I'd choose if a had to make the decission now with new prices.
Love being able to compare the two! Between the two, I am a fan of the Snoopy

I have the white dial but I STILL want the Snoopy so bad.
I saw a ton of watches while on vacation this week.. But I keep thinking about the white dial speedy the most.

I think it was the lighting at the AD making all the indices sparkle with specular highlights.

Great article, loved the pictures.

I would have thought the more apt comparison would have been the 2015 snoopy. It definitely was mentioned but thought it was surprising the the main comparison was to a blue dial watch.

Spiralwinder is who makes the bezels. They also make exhibition casebacks. Checked and they're currently out of stock but worth contacting them to find out when the bezels will be back in stock.
Thanks for the info!

I can take that picture on my wrist tomorrow, picking my Snoopy up at the OB.

I saw the White Speedy in person when bringing my Railmaster in for service at the end of December to the new Boutique. The dial itself is absolutely stunning, it has a depth to it that most white dials don't.

The bracelet was also really nice, I have another Speedy (2020 Tokyo) that I wear on bracelet, and this one felt nicer. Additionally, the Sapphire caseback, which I usually don't LIKE clear casebacks, showed off what is probably the prettiest movement I've ever seen.

Those 3 things together made this an easy order! Sadly, they didn't have any in stock at the Boutique so I had to order, so hopefully I'll get it in the next few weeks.
Did you ever get it? Or have I missed that post?

Not yet! I actually heard from the OB today that my watch will "be here in the next few days". So I should have it soon.

Not sure getting it from the OB instead of grey/2nd hand was worth an extra $600 and more than a month wait though :/

It's worth the wait. I've been lucky, last year I got it after only a week, got my FOIS in a week, and even my Snoopy showed up only a week after I expressed serious interest.

Thats easy to say when you only have to wait a week 😀 I'm sure the watch is worth it, but it is kind of biting to see brand-new ones for sale at ~$7500 and 'at my door in a day or two' instead of "$8100, a month, plus an hour drive each way".

I'm glad I got it at the OB, because it was not running correctly, only 8-12 hours not 50 and had no issues with warranty repair, instead of used/gray which may be problematic. Plus it was the first one new in store since 1998 so kind of a big deal.

Speaking of warranty: I was just told the Railmaster I submitted for repair (there is something odd going on with the automatic works) the same day I ordered the White Speedy is on the way back to them, so thats nice!

The Rolex I submitted for warranty work at the end of November is still MIA unfortunately, and they said it could take 6 months. Which I'm very much hoping isn't the case...

I don't know, 600 is less than 10%... what do you value the OB experience at?

So far? Not very much. It was nice to go in and chat and check it out, but the "OB Experience" hasn't been more than shopping for me at all. $600 is still a lot to spend to get them to resize a bracelet. Honestly, the $600 is less painful than the extra month of waiting, but I'm a pretty impatient person.

I'll have to check my schedule, but I'm fairly certain I would be able to resize your bracelet for $600. You're asking a lot, though.

So you bought the new white dial and a FOIS and then they sold you the Snoopy? That confirms what people have been saying about how they are selling the Snoopys.

Seems so. Showing up at the boutique and talking to them helped, as did the fact that I have a running email conversation with them about this and that. But I will also say that when I was buying them the thought of getting a Snoopy then was not a factor. I didn't buy anything I didn't truly want.

Nashville has got to be a very small market so that probably helped. @texasmade mentioned once that the Houston OB didn't have a lot of repeat customers and that probably helped him get his Snoopy. As always, location is a big factor.
