The White Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch - Better Than The Silver Snoopy Award?

OK, so I guess my thinking was that I can buy a nice black face speedy via gray for over a thousand less than msrp, whereas the white is msrp or better...

So I guess I just need to wait for the hype to settle down, like it did for the 57, and then I can buy a nice used one, or gray new, for a decent price.

Yeah. I was ok paying retail for it, but I got my hesalite new for over a grand less than retail, and my NTTD for 3000 less than retail.

I picked up a FOIS last Friday to go with the white and hesalite. It's very nice, but the white one is my favorite of the three. OB had at least one white one in stock.

Each has its strong points. The Silver Snoopy is a feast for the eyes both front and back and it also winds audibly (or at least mine does) which is a feast for the ears. The White Dial is gorgeously milky, eye catching and easier to read in the Sun. Apples and apples.

I had the chance to finally try one and compare to my Snoopy.
Really beautiful, but still prefer my beagle. It looks less dull, more special. Is it worth paying 4k€ more? -silver dial, back animation, ceramic bezel, that's up to you. For 9600€ I paid, undoubtedly, but not sure which path I'd choose if a had to make the decission now with new prices.

Considering the movement is the same on both, should it not sound the same? I own the white one but have never winded a Snoopy.

That's the question. I've seen three other Snoopys since my wife surprised me with mine and I've never thought to ask the owners if they notice the same thing. Mine definitely sounds different and my thought is that it's acoustic. The dial is actually silver and that coupled with the different caseback and visible components may be responsible. The stainless Apollo 11 50th Anniversary shares the same caseback and I'm wondering how it sounds when you wind it. Any Snoopy and/or Apollo owners out there care to weigh in?

interesting, so I just got a snoopy and I have noticed the winding too, but with no previous omega experience I just thought this was a speedmaster thing

I have Speedys with both the 1861 and 3861 movements and none of them sound like the Snoopy. At least now we both know it's a thing. Bonus, actually!😎

I got mine this Monday. The bracelet is nice and I love it on the black Moonwatch, but it didn't do it for me on a white dial.
Call me crazy, but this watch looks so sporty, so racy it belongs on a racing leather strap.

Couldn't agree more, also have the black and snoopy on metal bracelets but the white dial seems to be accentuated so beautifully on the leather strap with the right balance of dressy and sporty....

Holy moly, this was nice in person. I can see why they seem so popular. The indices catch the light in a dressier manner than I expected. And the bracelet is a really good update. I haven't liked most modern Omega bracelets, but they got slimmed it down in a way that felt awesome on the wrist.

I saw the White Speedy in person when bringing my Railmaster in for service at the end of December to the new Boutique. The dial itself is absolutely stunning, it has a depth to it that most white dials don't.

The bracelet was also really nice, I have another Speedy (2020 Tokyo) that I wear on bracelet, and this one felt nicer. Additionally, the Sapphire caseback, which I usually don't LIKE clear casebacks, showed off what is probably the prettiest movement I've ever seen.

Those 3 things together made this an easy order! Sadly, they didn't have any in stock at the Boutique so I had to order, so hopefully I'll get it in the next few weeks.

Definitely happy when I got mine in June 2024 (on of the first from the local OB) before my Alaskan cruise. Love the uniqueness with the stark white dial, black hands, black applied markers. Only thing I did was swap out the aluminum bezel to a ceramic one. Should've been released by Omega like this since it finishes the look.

I love mine, got it June 1. While it was being fixed, I bought a hesalite.

Love that bezel, but I'm not big on mods.

Where did you get the bezel?
Spiralwinder is who makes the bezels. They also make exhibition casebacks. Checked and they're currently out of stock but worth contacting them to find out when the bezels will be back in stock.
