Dam I hate wind. During winter in Montana the part of Montana I live at gets a lot of wind. I lost two 25 foot flag poles due to wind. The first flag pole was a cheapy one from Home Depot lasted two days before bent like a trig. Was a three section aluminum flag pole. Next up a fiberglass two section flag pole the manufacturer said built like sail mast did last 3 years. When that went down so did the heavy duty one at our post office was a very windy storm that time. I learned the weak points are the section flag pole were mine all ways broke. So got a 15 foot they sway less than the taller ones and a solid one piece one so no weak point and wind rated for over 100 miles per hour wind since not sectional was delivered by tractor trailer. So far handling Montana wind over two years. In the states we do like flying our flag. I hate wind if you ever watch a old cowboy movie we’re there in a cabin in a snowstorm at night and the wind is howling that’s Montana in the winter. Can’t wait for spring.
The North Sea this morning, wind speed 51 knots with gusts of 62 knots. Storm force 10 on the Beaufort scale. Never looks that bad in photos though.
Looks a fine day 😀
I often crossed between Scrabster and Stromness and that was a real fun crossing at times 😁
I worked a few miles west of Scrabster right at the water's edge and it was no fun on land either.
No, no, not the sooper-secret place that we all knew about, the acknowledged one close to it. Since demolished 🙁
