So....Probably the closest we will ever get to Bourdain on watches. From the book In the weeds by longtime producer Tom Vitale.

Interesting, but it doesn’t have a Faraday cage...

I think that would fit in with AB''s gift or habit when storytelling. Add embellishment. Make the watch a bit more exotic..

I watched Roadrunner - a documentary chronicling his unusual and unique life - two days ago on a United flight. There are plenty scenes during the film showing several watch models on his wrist. The one watch that caught my attention was one that looked like a Tag Heuer Monaco. An interesting character he was, the film is worth watching despite the sad/tragic ending. As one movie critic said "the AB documentary feels like one last message from beyond"..

He was likely referring to an antimagnetic cover...

Rolex markets it as a soft iron faraday cage...

I agree that a faraday cage does zero for magnetism, but it technically has one...

They really aren’t the same thing.

I agree, a Faraday cage stops radio waves not magnetism. It technically has a Faraday cage, it just does nothing...

I'm not sure it actually does though...

We are getting bogged down on the detail of the Faraday cage. Or lack of one. 🙁

Either way Rolex gets a decent amount of product placement in the book. Everytime Tony needs the time " he checked his Rolex".

It was a Monaco. Lots on AB's watches earlier in the thread if your interested.

I have no idea what happened to ABs watches but it appears that a lot of Anthony's possessions were bought my Marco Pierre White. His Bob Kramer custom knife and other artifacts will go on display at a restaurant White has opened in Singapore.
