Hi at OF and welcome in 2024 馃憤

Maybe this "box" can be useful for all ... I hope so.

Let me start to ask

All watches with "chronometer / chronometre" printed on the dial: these watches (the movements) have a COSC-certificate.

YES / NO?

It gets even more complicated as I have 2 watches without chronometer on the dial but are COSC certified.

I think you have misunderstood him. That model, known previously as the Replica was current from around 1997-2000 so was one of the first to get a SL lume dial, I dont see where he says its from the 80s. I. can't quite recall if there was a tritium dial Replica but I don't think there was.

seamaster101:

(Note as of 2023 - I am seeing increased interest in all Tritium Speedmasters, up to the change to Superluminova in 1992)

I didn't see the serial mentioned but if it is indeed 48.3m as you suggest, that dates to around 1996/1997.

See:https://www.ilovemyspeedmaster.com/productiondateprediction/

I haven't noticed that on Williams's site (which is of course Speedmaster101) but if it is a direct quote then I can only suggest it is a typo or error. There was no SL used until 1997.

You set this thread up for short answers, you are making me break the rules!!!

EDIT: We could ask William for a comment I guess, though I think he'd be the first to say he has little interest in Speedies post the tritium era @Spacefruit

Most if not all online lists have issues, particularly with anything after 1990 or so. Speedmasters run in different number sequences to other Omega models. These days pretty much all Omegas do and the lists are useless.

What does the 1 stand for?

It鈥檚 to do with hand height. You see it on models with applied indices.
