The relationship between Dennison and Omega

Hello all

As a big fan of both manufactures I was wondering whether anyone could shed any light on this claim:

"Dennison were the largest manufacturer of highgrade watch cases in Europe, producing 250,000 per annum. Most of the production was contracted by watch companies such as Rolex, Omega and Longines for the British market. At the time, Dennison not only worked closely with these Swiss watch brands, but they were also a shareholder in Omega."

True? False? Proof?

Thanks

In his book on Aaron Dennison and the Dennison Watch Case Co., Phillip Priestley indicates the Denco, the holding company that controlled all of the associated Dennison companies owned about 2,750 shares of Omega (Great Britain). No mention is made of what percentage was involved. And their interest only involved Omega, Great Britain. But the Dennison Watch Case Company worked very closely with Omega in producing certain model of watch cases only for Omega. And for a time in Great Britain, Dennison was the sole supplier of cases for Omega.

I don’t think Dennison in the UK was that different from the US casemakers that cased up Omega movements, it was the easiest way around the import duties for expensive watch cases.
