I kind of like "BeFs" as an abbreviation as it's easy to pronounce and works both in French "biseau et facette " and Fr-english kind of. "bevel & facette"
Now I know what to call this little watch I just picked up for my wife....a BeFs Tre Tacche
And just like that it's catching on.

(Bevel & facette was a typo on my part, switching back & forth between google translate tabs too quickly - credit to them for the Italian)

Isn’t it 😜
BeFs sounds a bit like « beef » though 🙄
A less cryptic term would be «disc» tre tacche vs «beveled» tre tacche.

Of course as a guy or a woman you’re allowed to wear whatever you like, but to be factual this 8LN watch is 25mm wide. Looks like mine below on a 5.5inch wrist. 😉
Glad you enjoyed the write up.

I bought a stunning 1949 Hamilton CLD Nordon for my lady at a whopping 30mm (considered a man’s sport watch of the time)...I tried it on and really wanted to be able to rock that size, but they really are small for a man- but perfect for a woman. It’s the same reason I just can’t do the early Mido’s despite my love for the brand-
28mm.
I love that you are bringing these small watches (particularly Longines) to a new audience that can truly love them. Scream it from the mountain tops @Syrte ...of course after you fill up your collection of the models you want.

Very nice little lady watch @allwoundup, I hope she likes it! 👍
Frankly I do not deserve credit for a primer, the two bezel types were already known to Longines collectors, I just tracked the terminology, and did so across various references.
But I’m glad if you enjoyed it as much as I loved your Tutenkhamun post!
Definitely a "little lady" watch....

Here’s an amazing example of what Longines called not a « disc bezel » but a «cubic bezel recessed on flat bezel”(my translation). Same reference as above, Found by @DirtyDozen12.
