The proper way to resize/shorten a 7077 bracelet without "quick remove" links

Hi OF

Apologies if this topic as already been discussed, but I didn't manage to find a thread that covered this topic. As the title suggests, I have 7077 bracelet with single non-quick removable links (i.e. Type B according to this great thread.

What's the correct way of resizing / shortening this bracelet. I had my independent WM have a go and he tried prying open one of the fixed links with several screwdrivers in different sizes with manual force. The gap barely widened. After watching him for painful 5 minutes I asked him to stop. I took it to an official Omega retailer with an in-house watchmaker and they wouldn't even touch the bracelet and said it's fixed, you can't shorten it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd like to wear the bracelet. Putting on extra weight is not an option by the way 馃榾

Just various strong flat headed tools and patience.
Screwdrivers, case opening knives and suchlike.
Also a small hammer and fine chisel for reforming.

The best way to do it is to send it to Michael Young in HK.
It will take about a month to get it back, but the links will be removed in the most professional way possible and without damage.

Thanks for the comment. I refrain from doing it myself.

Many thanks, I found him on IG. I will keep him in mind, but would prefer a European solution. Any leads would be highly appreciated.

He鈥檚 worth his weight in gold.
I鈥檝e got a Rolex big logo stretch bracelet with him now.

Those 7077 are super nice, yet painful to resize (and then often molested).

Good luck.

I have a 2998-2 and an original 7077 I bought separately. It has all the links and it looks really good. I did what RevZMan recommends. I bought an Uncle Seiko and it looks pretty good too.

I'm a big fan of the Forstner and Uncle Seiko offerings, but I find that the edges of their center links are just too sharp and don't have the nice rounding over that the originals have. I found a couple nice 1035 bracelets to wear my Ranchero on, but I recently got a 7077 with the double stretch links and I'm trying to learn as much as I can, that's what brought me here....
