I'm not sure platinum warrants the price difference from the regular stainless steel. That's just me though.
Based on the precious metal content, no, but these luxury items aren't priced on how much gold or platinum is used.

Lunar meteorite sub-dials but which lunar meteorite precisely, paying that amount of money, any buyer would like to know as lunar meteorites are brittle fragile Stone Achondrites not as easy to work with as pure (stronger but rust-prone) Iron meteorites. So which lunar meteorite ? (NWA-number Dar Al Gani, or other ?)
Would I rather have another model, sure what about Fratello’s article “My Dream Speedmaster Is An Impossible-To-Find NASA Watch” about a Speedmaster with a practical bezel !
Practical bezel, no clicks, auto locking system, blue and red or black insert, plexi, no shine, chronometer, time zones with 30 and 45 minutes, am and pm indicator, compass, hours record, water resistant, etc. A pilot watch? A tool watch? A rolex watch? Yes, a rolex from the last century. A rolex gmt master.

In the last century, my choice would have been a glycine airman over a longines zulu.

Yep. These are cool, but at these prices there are quite a large list of other watches I would rather get.

FP Journe makes its movements out of 18k gold, so it doesn't present any real issues. That would certainly make a 321 movement special for their super high end platinum or gold cases.
The 321B movement was never meant to be a more blinged out revival. They only used Sedna Gold plating to resemble the copper color of the original. If they would have changed too much, it would not be a true copy of the vintage 321.

It never does, but it's really hard to machine platinum at this level. The edges are really sharp and quite impressive. Also the onyx dial and the very rare moon meteorite add up to the price. I agree it's a crazy price nonetheless, but that goes for any platinum watch imho.

Agreed, there was a platinum Tagheuer Monaco V4 in '09 which had a RRP of 100k.
